You can make mirrors if you have the right kind of sheet metal. You can even make mirrors from super cheap materials but still decent quality. For example, you can buy some sheet steel they sell at homedepot, order some silver nitrate solution on ebay, and then all you need to do is cut out the shape of the what the mirror will be from the sheet steel - dip these in the silver nitrate in a plastic pan, once it is silvered, you can laminate them or even "cook" the mirrors so the silver melts into the sheet steel.
