why did loads of people stop liking green day?
i dunno when or why but somewhere arounf the american idiot album everyone seemed to go off them. i don't get it myself. i'm only a casual listener but i still often hear people say "yeah man early green day were great" or "wow they're nearly as good as greenday at their peak" i mean american idiot (the song) wasn't great but i thought the album was ok. plus i quite like 21st century break down. so anyone understand/ mind explaining why so many of their former fanatics stopped liking them?
My IQ is dropping, so many bad answers based on their opinions.
First, Green Day was always commercial since Dookie...if they sold out, it was then...they were already a household name and had several hits since.
Now the main reason why people stopped liking GD is because their sound changed from punk rock/pop punk to alternative rock/pop rock. Another reason was their original fanbase did not like political messages in their music and dropped off. Others are just judging music by the radio and just didn't like hearing 4 hit singles on the top 40 station while others stopped listening just because of their image. Image does not make up their music.
That said, I did enjoy 21CB, but I still think nothing will be Dookie, Insomniac, and Warning.
