Why was John Wayne's singing voice dubbed?
Why was John Waynes's singing voice dubbed? Are you aware that John Wayne sang in some of his westerns? He did but his voice was dubbed over with someone elses. However I've seen clips of John Wayne singing with Dean Martin and his singing voice isn't bad, which is why I am curious to know why they dubbed his singning voice? Any searches I do bring me to sights that talk about the whole controversy over who really dubbed his voice. I was wandering if any western buffs out there might know something about why they did it.
"Wayne said the singing was bad. He was so right!"
The fact that he played "Singin' Sandy Saunders" in this cheaply made Lone Star western doesn't mean he actually sang himself.
