The face of my light switch plate get REALLY hot when the lights are turned on, should I get it checked out?
It's the plate for my living room, which lights up about seven ceiling lights. The plate also has two other switches on it (so three total). When the living room lights are on the face of the plate gets VERY hot, almost so that you can touch it but can't leave your hand on it for a while it's so hot. Is this something that I should get checked out or is it normal? The house is just over ten years old, so not too old. Thanks!
There is no way that the face plate should as you said "get hot". Please don't use that switch again until you can replace it with another. This is a fire waiting to happen. Make this a priority. Good luck
