i need a summary of what happens in new moon. (twilight series)?
can someone give me a summary of what happens in the new moon book? The first good answer i recieve gets 10 points.

As you probably know, Bella Swan and Edward Cullen fall madly in love in the first book, Twilight. In New Moon, the second novel, something happens that makes many readers upset. While celebrating Bella's 18th birthday at the Cullens, Jasper (the newest 'vegetarian' of the Cullen famiy) springs at Bella when she accidentally cuts her finger. Edward instantly stops Jasper, but the heartache he feels for harming her, even by association, is prevalent. He makes the ultimate and unpopular choice to leave her for her own safety. Utterly alone and heartbroken, Bella becomes catatonic. She finds that she can hear his voice as a warning when she is reckless and dangerously daring. Also in this time, Bella becomes best friends with Jacob Black. She learns that some Quiluetes become werewolves, and that Jacob is the newest member of this secret clan. Trying again to hear one of Edward's lovely warnings, she rashly hurls herself off a ledge into the ocean. Edward's clairvoyant sister Alice sees Bella doing this, assumes the worst, and tells Rosalie about her death. Rosalie, unsuprisingly, informs Edward and he quickly decides to go to Volterra, Italy and convince the Volturi elders to kill him, as he never planned on outliving his true love. Alice returns to Forks to check on things with the Swans and is shocked to find Bella alive and relatively well. Alice and Bella choose to travel to Italy to stop Edward from such a grave mistake. The trip to Volterra is long and nerve-racking as Bella was unsure of her ability to save Edward. At the last possible moment, she stops him from walking out into the sunlight and revealing himself as a vampire. They are both in awe of each other's existence. The Volturi guard lead Edward, Bella, and Alice into the underground 'lair' belonging to the Volterra vampires. Eventually the Cullens and Bella are allowed to leave, after promising to soon change the knowing human Bella into one of them. Upon returning home, they reaffirm their love, much to Jacob's dismay. This love strengthens in the final two books of the series, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.
