What is the alias that Paul Revere & The Raiders used in the '60s when promoting a new LP (read below)?
They had fallen out of favor with the "hip" crowd, by the late '60s, and had already abandonded their Revolutionary War uniforms. (No doubt due to the ant-war sentiment over Vietnam at the time.) The album actually got played, and was well received, until it was revealed who they really were! The LP did yield a couple of big hits, however.
To fool those arbitors of hipness, FM radio, the Raiders did a limited pressing of an album billing themselves as Pink Puzz. It helped get some radio exposure for "Let Me," which became a Top 20 hit. The album was eventually titled "Alias Pink Puzz."
