1) The Watchman in the Darkness
The narrow corridors never ended
Till the Sixth Avenue
And in the hot noon's grudge
I took a candle box
From my torn waist coat pocket.
The sun sent fires in to the pits
Of my "darker-than-the-night" eyes
The sudden patch of light
Showed me the way to Nowhere.
Unable, still, to lit the candle
I searched for a match box.
In the watchman's cotton bag.
Oh! He is indifferent.
The much awaited bullock cart driver
Came with a yellow stick.
I was greeted, inquired,
Uncovered and
Taken away!!!
2) A Red-Carpet Welcome
It was a red-carpet welcome
I got at the city hotel
With damsels so cute and
Movements so measured.
The cashier smiled at me;
A strange but a pleasing one.
The manger smiled at me;
So official and so balanced.
The chef, the servants,
The served
All smiled at me.
I was enchanted.
A maroon donned thin girl
Led me to my cabin.
When I sat alone
Before a bordered mirror
I smiled at myself.
At last,
I learnt to smile like a man..!!
3) Calendar
The tele-box equates
Its airy signals: In a lost mood
I turned suddenly leftward
To have a chain of happenings
Both here and here the seas.
Oh! It's a newsy day!
The chill of the nightly darkness
Sharpens my woolen cloth
Its thick dew cover
Picked away by my hot breaths.
Oh! It's a tough sun above
For, both the bare earth and the bulletin station
Take me away from my wooden stool.
I empowered my brownish ear-pairs
To listen to the Lady's pearlish voice.
She began unrolling the day's corners
From the bottom to its upper parts.
From the calendar I found
Everyday was yesterday...!
