is the venetian hotel in Las Vegas down to earth, Will it be fun? ?
Or should i stay at the the Hard Rock or Planet Hollywood
The pricing is about the same, The venetian has a special 159 then 119 for each additional night. so all the hotels are running like 350-450 for the 3 nights.. Just want don't want to be bored at the hotel.. but don't want to be to wild with either..
were 30-33 years old..
what about the Mirage or the Mandalay? where are they located??
Just want to make sure..
The Venetian has nice sized rooms - ask for a Strip view if one is available and you'll like that. There are a dozen things to do in the hotel - restaurants, shopping (Grand Canal Shops), wonderful spa (Canyon Ranch, which is a top-notch spa), several bars and clubs, good entertainment (Jersey Boys, Blue Man Group), Wayne Brady, Phantom, Madame Toussands wax museum, gondola rides...you could easily fill up a trip just by doing things there.
But you'll want to go across the street to Mirage to catch the Volcano, which is just reopening after an upgrade; to TI to see the free outdoor Sirens show, etc.
It's a good place to stay - Hard Rock is off the Strip so unless you have a reason to stay there, Venetian and Planet Hollywood are better located. Planet Hollywood has just gotten a complete renovation, has great shopping/spa/restaurants/entertainment, so it's a great choice too.
Rooms are bigger at Venetian since it's an all-suites hotel. Also, Planet Hollyood tacks on a $4.99/day "resort fee" which I consider a rip off way to increase rates while still displaying a lower rate. (I don't THINK that Venetian has a resort fee).
Mandalay Bay is at the end of the strip, so the location isn't as good if you want to walk around. Here is an accurate map of the strip so you can see the relation of one casino to the other:

If you have some time before your trip, sign up for email notices from each of the casinos you are interested in. It's very likely that you can get some really special prices from one of the promotions they are always running.
