Which Into The Woods Role Should I Audition For?
My school is getting ready to have auditions for our 2nd major production for this year, and I don't know who to audition for.
I am an 8th grader who recently just finished my first major role as Sally Brown in You're A Good Man Charlie Brown.
Im a phenomenal actress. So I've been told.
Im a high soprano and im able to project my voice.
I also don't know the play at all.
Please help me,

Cinderella is the biggest soprano part in the show - the Baker's Wife, the Witch and Little Red are all mezzos rather than sopranos. Rapunzel is also a soprano. Cinderella is a lovely part and she gets the great song "On The Steps of the Palace". I'd suggest using "Green Finch and Linnet Bird" from Sweeney Todd, or "Lovely" from A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Forum as an audition song - stick with Sondheim. You could also use "I Feel Pretty" from West Side Story (Sondheim wrote the lyrics) which is a lovely soprano song. Track down the DVD of the original Broadway production (with Bernadette Peters as the Witch) and have a look at it - it's wonderful!
